I had nothing else to watch, so I decided to give Kübra on Netflix a go. The story unfolds with a simple worker (lathe turner) getting a message through some app. "You're different." After some more cryptic messages we see some kind of indescribable miracles/coincidences. Witnessing these miracles, out protagonist believes that God/Allah is communicating with him (mostly through his smartphone). Well, it turns out, that it's some AI fucking with him.
So far so good. Overall I'd give that show a 7.5/10. After finishing the first season I've been asking myself the question: What would I have done? Would I've considered that I may have been hacked? Sure. But isn't the "evidence" of turning off the lights of a whole city big enough? What about demolishing a building? And it's not just that but the fact that I'm actually receiving answers while talking.
Would I've made the connection that the conversation was only digital? Nowadays where our phone is always online, it's hard to think that the phone was merely listening or rather eavesdropping on my words. Would I've thought why my inner monologues fell on deaf ears? I don't think so.
So if I were to ask for a proof that God exists, I may (just like one guy in the show asked) ask for "God" to split the sea. This is a feat that no man can accomplish, not even with the help of technology. However, and let's say there's actually this technology somewhere in DARPA or CERN or wherever. What then? Would I be gullible to believe in "God" because of that proof? And what kind of proof does "God" have to bring so that people believe in God?
